Charlottesville Ballet announces its open audition for the professional company to take place on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 3:00pm. Positions available include Company Artist, Apprenticeships, and participation in the 2018-2019 Trainee Program. About Comic Opera for Children

The Comic Opera for Children started its activity in 1998, initially launched as an independent company, which proved to be a unique and original "voice" in the Romanian artistic landscape as well as internationally. Nowhere in the world there is such an ensemble, the institution fulfilling both a cultural-artistic and educational role. Since 2003, the Comic Opera for Children has become a public institution under the subordination of the City Hall, and since 2014 it is run by soprano Felicia Filip.

Training for Professional Careers in Ballet

This two-week program gives serious students ages 9-19 the opportunity to cap off their summer studies and prepare for the season ahead. An internationally illustrious faculty instructs students in technique, pointe, men's, pas de deux, variations, and modern classes.

Admission to BAE is by audition. Audition dates for the 2018 Summer Intensive are:

May 6th, 2018

All potential students must fill out the audition application, and will receive an e-mail response within one week of submission. The Kirov Academy of Ballet of Washington, DC is now accepting audition applications for the KAB Junior Company, beginning in September of 2017.

The KAB Junior Company is designed to prepare dancers who have received a high school diploma for a professional career in dance. However, members of the Junior Company are trained specifically to meet the requirements of a professional company. KAB Junior Company life includes daily ballet classes and rehearsals.

The Junior Company is invited to perform at various local venues, to participate in Educational Outreach performances throughout the community, and to perform in international performances. Company members may also be selected to perform with the Universal Ballet Company in Korea.

Throughout the two-year program, the company will provide dancers with the skills necessary to succeed in the highly competitive field of dance.
