Since tomorrow is the 4th of July, we thought it would be fun to dig up an old photo of Stars and Stripes. In searching for a shot of a performance, we found something just as fun! Here is an after-performance photo of some of the biggest names in ballet! From left to right: Arthur Mitchell, Gloria Govrin, Allegra Kent, George Balanchine, Patricia McBride, and Edward Villella. It was taken in 1963 at President Kennedy's birthday celebration. Photo by Martha Swope.
P.S. Love the Karinska costumes!
