Michelle Dorrance, second from left, will teach at ATDF's Rockin' In Rhythm intensive. Here, she shim-shams at the DM Awards on Dec. 3, 2012 with ATDF director Tony Waag (fourth from left) and other tap luminaries.

Attention, teen tap dancers: are you part of an ensemble that has what it takes to perform in New York City? Want to meet fellow tappers from around the country and attend classes with some of the city’s most sought-after teachers? The American Tap Dance Foundation is hosting the Rockin’ In Rhythm Teen Tap Intensive, Feb. 16–18. The weekend of performances, master classes, and other festivities includes a showcase for participating troupes at Symphony Space, plus workshops with leading lights like Michelle Dorrance and Brenda Bufalino. So far, groups from New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., Michigan, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Slovenia are slated to perform. A cutting contest and jam session are also on the agenda. Check out the details here, or contact shebach@atdf.org for more information. Applications are due by January 14.
