Sometimes, my favorite part of "So You Think You Can Dance" isn't the duets or the dance-for-your-life solos, but the group numbers, where all the competitors team up to perform together. Last night was one of those episodes, when all 20 finalists presented "New York, New York" from On the Town, choreographed by Joshua Bergasse after Jerome Robbins. It's one of those classic numbers, and these dancers gave it just the pizazz it deserves. Check it out (skip to 1:16):
It's good practice: The production just announced that this season's "SYTYCD" winner will be offered a role in On The Town in the spring. The musical officially opens on Broadway in October—and we can't wait.
