A beloved dance teacher, Colin Day passed away in February from gastric cancer at the age of 51. He was a graduate of Vassar College, and he earned a PhD in mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He spent seven years as a professional dancer with Boston Ballet II, Vermont Ballet Theater, Charleston Ballet Theater, Southern Ballet Theater, and Columbia City Ballet. After he retired from the stage, he taught dance, high school math, yoga, and cycling in New Jersey and California. Donations may be made in his behalf to the American Cancer Society and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. —Rachel Rizzuto
