Can't get enough of Robert Fairchild in city.ballet.? I've got good news for you: The New York City Ballet principal recently took The New York Times inside his workout regimen. The ironically-named producer Natalia V. Osipova captures Fairchild stretching and working with the balls, bands and rollers he uses to keep his body in shape during NYCB's six-week run of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker.
"The thing about sports is you can grunt and make ugly faces. We have to do the same amount of physical activity but you also have to mask it with ease and poise," says Fairchild.
