We know Michaela DePrince's inspiring story of going from war-torn Sierra Leone to international ballet star. But now she's giving us even more insight into her life as a dancer with Dutch National Ballet with a new vlog series that covers everything from her recent injury to her globetrotting lifestyle. Here's why we're loving it:

1. She's #goals for any dancer dealing with an injury.

This summer, DePrince ruptured her achilles tendon. But instead of letting the injury get her down, DePrince has used the opportunity to take on new projects (like starting this vlog!) and has devoted herself to her rehab.

2. She's not afraid to get real about physical, mental and emotional health.

From sharing the details of her injury to opening up about her PTSD diagnosis, DePrince doesn't pretend that her life is all glamorous endorsement deals and Beyoncé video cameos. She lets her fans get to know the real her—and the real struggles that professional dancers deal with.

3. She knows how to focus on the positives.

While DePrince acknowledges that dealing with her injury was hard at first, she's looking at it as a blessing in disguise and an opportunity to slow down and focus on projects like War Child.

4. She gives great advice.

Not only does DePrince open up about her own mental health struggles in her vlogs, but she also preaches the importance of finding someone to talk to about your issues—which is much-needed advice for dancers.

5. She's interested in more than dance.

All you have to do is listen to DePrince talk about "Games of Thrones" for a few minutes to know that she's not one of those tunnel-vision dancers. She has other interests and passions and a well-rounded life beyond ballet, which makes her vlog all the more interesting.
