Carmela Muzio Dormani, PhD

Carmela is a sociologist and dancer from New York. She is Assistant Professor of sociology at Mercy College and completed her PhD at CUNY Graduate Center. Her research focuses on the politics of everyday culture in cities, including the role of race and ethnicity, migration patterns, and social movements. She has trained and performed professionally in Latin dance, hip hop, and commercial dance styles, including as a principal with Huracán Dance Company.
