Russell Maliphant Dance Company
Russell Maliphant will be teaching classes online every Monday from September 13th throughout the Autumn term.
Each class will last for 75 minutes from 10:45am – 12:00pm (GMT)
Classes are focused on increasing body awareness, articulation and strength whilst exploring choices in movement and dynamics within a playful practice. Drawing on anatomical information as a resource for movement and improvisation, class will encourage connection, balance and listening to the body in movement.
The classes are suitable for professionals, dancers in training and those with a few years physical training or movement experience.

TRANSCENDING, an exploration of different vibrational aspects of sound and movement performed and choreographed by Miriam Barbosa (Miriam Barbosa Dance) and Javier Dzul (Dzul Dance) to music instrumentation by Daria Savishkina, Franck Raharinosy and Michael Mustafa Ulmer. This project is dedicated directly to the audience of this difficult times in much need for inner strength and healing.
Ms Barbosa and Mr Dzul explore the air element through aerial dance to add sensorial anti gravitational feeling to the spectators creating a sense of lightness and weightlessness, magnifying their transformational meditative state in conjunction with the sounds and lighting effects. Multimedia artistic design by Marcela Bragagnolo.
Ms Savishkina and Mr Raharinosy play their sound meditation instruments live, offering multiple tones which creates layers of sound, adapted artistically to the choreography, which can be directly felt by those experiencing it and improving their ability to cope with stress, enhancing their perception into a state of serenity and peace. Guest musician Michael Ulmer also holds the space adding color and rhythm to the moving meditation.
The performance will be streamed from the New York Live Arts Theater on May 2nd, 2021 at 7pm EST. At the present moment, given the Covid-19 restrictions, our filming team with its high technology makes Transcending possible to share the healing and meditative aspect of this interdisciplinary project online so it is safely accessible to all.
Miriam Barbosa has experienced the deep healing effects from the sound meditation during her battle with Covid in 2020 when Mr Raharinosy offered online sessions, in addition to her consistent breathing and movement technique practice. They now would like to share with the world this beautiful work promoting a deep sense of well being and higher consciousness to all viewers, inspiring and strengthening their inner power and potential as human beings.

The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM), artistic director Eriberto Jimenez, presents its annual Grand Classical Gala – LIVE at the Fillmore Miami Beach – Saturday, June 5 /8:00 pm. The performance will also be streamed. “CCBM Annual Classical Gala” will highlight select pieces of the most famous Classical Ballet Repertoire from renowned early 1900 Russian impresario Sergei Diaghilev’s “Ballet Russe”. Featuring Cuban Principal Dancers, CCBM Soloists and Corps de Ballet, in collaboration with St. Lucie Ballet, with beautiful costumes and effects. This Gala will be the first ballet Presentation Live On Stage in Miami in 2021 presenting: “La Bayadere” Set in the Royal India of the past it is a story of eternal love, mystery, fate, vengeance, and justice. Choreographed by the great Marius Petipa, La Bayadère was first presented at the Imperial Bolshoi Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1877. “Le Carnival” ballet became world-famous due to its production by Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes. Choreographed by Michel Fokine the ballet evokes gallant males, coquettish females, and lovers who teasingly accept and reject each other in a series of light, humorous, and joyous incidents both touching and with a satirical undertone. “Vivendiere” with choreography by ballet stars Saint-Léon and Fanny Cerrito, premiered 1844 in London. The ballet is set in a village in Hungary and features the lovers Kathi and Hans, who must overcome the jealous machinations of the Burgomaster and the Baron. “Spectre de la Rose” (The Spirit of the Rose) is a short ballet about a young girl who dreams of dancing with the spirit of a souvenir rose from her first ball. Choreographed by Russian Michel Fokine and starring the great Nijinsky the ballet premiered in Monte Carlo in 1911 with Diaghilev’s Ballet Russes.

Virtual Intensive: “Dancing with the Camera: Concept to Delivery”
FEBRUARY 27-MARCH 2 & MARCH 13-14, 2021
Dive deeper into your creative practice in front of and behind the camera in GALLIM’s dance filmmaking intensive, designed to help you bring your film concept from ideation to film festival delivery. Develop your narrative, formalize your pre-production strategy, build new skills in cinematography, editing, performance studies for camera, and directing, and learn what you need to know about the film festival submission process. Additionally, all participants will have the opportunity to receive one-on-one feedback from GALLIM Artistic Director Andrea Miller and guest artists from the dance film industry.
Each day includes movement, theory, and working sessions led by Andrea Miller, filmmakers Ben Stamper, Andrew Ellis, Bat-Sheva Guez, and Mary John Frank, director and choreographer Francesca Harper, and GALLIM Creative Associate Emily Terndrup.
This intensive is programmed over weekends and evenings to accommodate work and school schedules.

Harlem School of the Arts
Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) is a premier provider of pre-professional level dance classes for those serious about training as well as families seeking dance enrichment for their children . HSA is proud to be one of only five certified schools in the world offering the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) National Training Curriculum.
The HSA Dance Enrichment Program allows students aged 18 months – 18 yrs to experience the transformative power of dance regardless of skill level or prior training. There is no minimum class or audition requirement for dance enrichment classes. However, students aged 8+ must be assessed for placement by an HSA Dance faculty member prior to enrollment into a ballet or modern dance class. HSA Dance offers classes in classical ballet, modern, hip-hop, jazz, African and tap.
Registration for this year’s Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) Virtual Fall 2020 Classes, which began on September 26th, is now open. The organization has one of the best all-around dance programs in the country.

Idyllwild Arts Academy
Starting 4/15, Idyllwild Arts Dance Department is offering a free Facebook Live Dance series every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. PDT from April 15-May 20. These classes will be taught by IAA Dance faculty and feature a different style of dance each week. Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary will all be taught during the 6 week series. Robert Moses will coach as master company members lead participants through this technically demanding and intellectually challenging workshop. This online program is designed for Int./Adv. and professional dancers wanting to immerse themselves in intensive training.
