Carey Purcell is a New York based writer, reporter and theatre critic. who focuses on diversity and gender parity in culture and the arts. She has been published in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Village Voice, Politico, Dame Magazine, The Nation, Teen Vogue, Playbill, American Theater Magazine, and People Magazine. Carey is a member of the League of Professional Theatre Women, the American Theatre Critics Association, the Drama Desk and the Outer Critics Circle. She received a BS in Print and Multimedia Journalism and a BA in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College and can be followed on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
When Michael Vadacchino, co-founder of the online dancewear store Boys Dance Too, visited a competition to ask a customer if he would model for the site, he was able to find him easily. This boy was one of only three in the entire competition.
