Jakki Kalogridis

Jakki Kalogridis is currently an MFA Candidate and Teaching Assistant in Dance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Jakki received a BFA in Studio Art with a Minor in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She taught dance, colorguard and marching band while working as a costume designer in North Carolina for many years before relocating to New Orleans in 2013. While in Louisiana, she founded New Orleans Colorguard Arts and New Orleans Spin Club, and worked with Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps and Tulane University Marching Band.

Jakki's recent artistic projects include "Emergence," a concert-collaboration with live band Loose Willis in the Marigny Opera House; "Beats," a dancefilm collaboration with New Orleans-based drummer/musician Brad Webb and photographer/cinematographer Josh Brasted; and currently "The Library," a costume/performance collaboration with sound designer Clare Marie Nemanich.
