Ulanova as Juliet

Today's archive photo is a close-up of the Bolshoi's Galina Ulanova as Juliet. It was 1956 when the Bolshoi made its Western debut with Romeo and Juliet in London with Galina as the star-crossed heroine. It must have been quite the event! Ulanova could have been a movie actress. Her face is absolute perfection in this photo!

Check out this footage of her dancing the iconic role.
