USC Kaufman School Announces More Exceptional Dance Faculty Members

Though the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance has yet to open its doors to its inaugural BFA class, the excitement surrounding the program's fall 2015 launch keeps building. Yesterday, the school announced six illustrious performers and choreographers who will be joining Jodie Gates, William Forsythe and Margo Apostolos as either faculty or artists in residence. The roster features a bold mix of ballet, hip-hop and contemporary greats. Here's who's on tap:

Desmond Richardson, artist in residence: artistic director and co-founder of Complexions Contemporary Ballet

Patrick Corbin, assistant professor: choreographer and former Paul Taylor Dance Company member

E. Moncell Durden, assistant professor: Rennie Harris Puremovement company member and notable hip-hop scholar

Zippora Karz, artist in residence: former New York City Ballet soloist and current teacher and répétiteur for The George Balanchine Trust

Fiona Lummis, artist in residence: former member of Nederlands Dans Theater

Victor Quijada, artist in residence: artistic director of RUBBERBANDance Group based in Montréal

This list alone has a part of me wishing I was 18 again. Here's to the students who will get to experience all of the faculty's brilliance.
