Zzzzzz

You’re under the covers. Lights are out. But you can’t turn off the Paquita variations dancing in your head! If visions of choreography keep you awake night after night, you could be building up a massive sleep debt. “There are many theories, but we know for sure that sleep deprivation physically slows you down,” says sleep researcher Dr. William Dement. “You just can’t move as quickly.” Not good for dancers. To keep up the tempo tomorrow, find a distraction. Maybe it’s dull noise on the radio or eating a snack. Take a warm bath or read until your eyelids want to close. Anything to get your mind off of what step comes next.
