When live performances to packed houses came to a sudden halt, Anna Schnaitter took the cue to fully devote herself to her childhood passion, making jewelry. Until recently Anna had been a company member of NYC’s immersive cult hit Sleep No More. While dancing in such shows as the Broadway National Tour of Pippin, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, 30 Rock, and Smash, she continuously built her jewelry collection, creating art with an ability to connect imagination to the physical world.

Anna Roween jewelry is handmade in NYC. Self-taught with decades of experience, Anna created her own techniques for intricate beadwork. Specializing in elemental, nature-inspired mosaics each piece is one of a kind, wearable art celebrating the innately perfect patterns of our universe. Her fascination with sacred geometry combines with spontaneity, diverse color palettes, and perfect symmetry. These artistic creations are a meditation imbued with healing energy, so surround yourself with dynamic art and see your own creativity ignite.

The ballet glider is a valuable tool for barre work, reasonably priced, and a fun accessory. This 8 x11 fleece sleeve, attached to barre by velcro, is ideal for barre stretches providing a comfortable slide on the barre and cushioning the Achilles tendon. It is also an effective way to encourage dancers not to grip the barre; holding a movable sleeve makes the dancer aware that any action forward or back requires their weight to change; this encourages them to work both sides of the torso at barre which results in more stability in center. The Glider is washable for good hygiene and reversible! Our four most popular styles are shown on the website, other styles are available upon request, wholesale and bulk prices available.

One of the best things to be said about dance is that there’s no end to it, and for those who live in this magical world it has a stronghold. It used to be that the expression of dance depended on location. Not anymore. Bonnie Wallace offers an exciting new direction on Zoom.

She doesn’t just cater to the practiced stage performer. Her approach is that there’s a place for everyone and that each individual’s decision to dance is personal. It’s for this reason no two dancers are identical. Each person puts into it something of themself, their very own soul.

Wallace believes that dance is color, movement, and an extra dimension of expression, wordless but powerful. It is something that everyone can enjoy. Since the end result is so rewarding making time for dance is a valuable aspect of living. So make some room, Zoom in, and move.

Hope Garden Ballet

Poolesville, MD

hopegardenballet.com

Hope Garden is a relatively small professional ballet school in Maryland, in operation for 22 years. We offer pre-professional and recreational classes, ages 4 – 18, with a full-length story ballet twice a year, which always includes the classics. We use the Vaganova method, with yearly exams and a rigorous pre-professional program. During the COVID shut down, we did about 6 weeks of Zoom ballet, which was excruciating, and then, being the rebel that I am, and for the sake of my precious, diligent students, I opened up in a limited fashion. I started with private and semi-private lessons and was prepared to even be arrested for the dancers’ sake. This was for their mental health…dancers gotta move! We followed safety protocols and common sense. We are “legal” now!
