THE DEPARTMENT OF DANCE AT WEBSTER UNIVERSITY
is seeking a dancer/teacher with extensive professional performance, choreographic and teaching experience. Qualified candidates should have a strong background in ballet and modern with an understanding of jazz and notable experience in teaching Dance Composition. It is preferred that the candidate has an MFA degree in dance. Exceptional candidates could substitute performance experience and will be evaluated on an individual basis. Preference will be given to candidates who provide interdisciplinary and/or international education interests. It is anticipated the candidate will have the ability to teach all levels of ballet and modern technique classes, choreograph for the Webster University Dance Ensemble and, where appropriate, for the Conservatory of Theatre Arts. Knowledge in any of the following fields is considered an asset: Pedagogy, Composition, Dance History, Repertory, Contemporary/Jazz, Technology for Dance and Somatics.
