When you’re wearing skintight clothes in front of body-length mirrors all day long, it’s easy to become obsessed with every bit of food you put in your mouth. But don’t forget that calories feed more than love handles. Most of the calories you eat are used to keep your organs, muscles, brain, and all the rest of your body working. How much? About 97–98 percent. Yup, that means only around 2–3 percent of the calories you eat go to your fat cells.
