Celebrate Africa! Free Dance Think-In, and $25 to a Healthier You

The Song and Dance Ensemble of West Africa will celebrate the music, dance and folkloric traditions of Senegal, Guinea, Benin, Mauritania. Feel the beat at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts in Fairfax, Virginia. It’s Oct. 10-11; and with a ticket purchase ($23 for students), get a free, pre-performance discussion with the artists.

There’s nothing like a meeting of artistic minds. Bringing an intellectual edge to artistry is “Media, Technology and Performance,” from CounterPULSE and Dancers’ Group of San Francisco. During a free panel discussion, Bay Area artists including curators and choreographers explore how their work integrates media and performance, and extends technologies. It’s Thursday, Sept. 25 at 7:30 pm at CounterPULSE in San Francisco.  

Knowledge is power! Discover how powerful you can be when you know all there is to know about taking care of your body. Come to the New York City Ballet’s annual Dance Wellness Workshop, “Bodies in Balance,” for workshops and panel discussions focusing on the care and healing of dancers’ bodies.
