Dance Magazine Editors' Choice October 2009

Congratulations to dancer Jen Gill and choreographer Marianne Delehanty, winners of the 
Dance Magazine Editors’ Choice Award for “Patsy.” This intriguing modern solo developed the use of an armchair and hypnotic music into a thought-provoking work of art. We would like to commend Jen for the way she embraced stillness in the movement of a slowly turned head and managed to disguise the underlying control of seemingly uncontrolled movements. The piece left us with the contradiction of a comforted discontent, and it is a work that we will not soon forget. In future pieces from this collaborative pair,  a clearer climax might work well.  Wonderful work, Jen and Marianne.
