Deepen Your Stretch

Every dancer has her own pre-class/rehearsal warmup routine. But almost all include some stretching plus a few core exercises. For an extra benefit, try doing both at the same time. By contracting your abs while you’re stretching you’ll be able to go even deeper. Think of pulling your belly button toward your spine—it will elongate your back, giving you a greater range of motion.
