SF Hip Hop for $20, Free Dance in NYC, and the Joffrey Blossoms!
Keep hip hop charged! The San Francisco Hip Hop DanceFest may not be until November, but it’s hosting a fundraiser Aug. 21-22. The festival has faced some major funding cuts. Catch performances by Neopolitan, Funkanometry SF, and SoulForce Dance Company. Tickets start at $20.
The Joffrey is heading to Ohio! The company is part of the Cleveland Orchestra’s Blossom Festival Aug. 22-23. They will perform four works, including Mobile choreographed by Paul Taylor and Carousel (A Dance) by Christopher Wheeldon. Tickets start at $23.
Like modern dance and Radiohead? Why not put them together? Ben Munisteri Dance Projects perform their new work Catalog, set to songs by Radiohead, as part of New York’s Lincoln Center Out of Doors. Bring a lawn chair and a picnic to enjoy this free outdoor performance. The show starts at 7:30 pm onAugust 15.
