Should I Stay Or Should I Go?
Under the weather this winter? Getting sick is especially tough on dancers—your mind still wants to go to every class and rehearsal, but your body doesn’t want to move. So what do you do? Your symptoms hold the answer. If they’re in your neck and above (think stuffy nose, headache, sore throat) it’s okay to dance, just take it easy. Moderate exercise won’t make you any better or worse. If they’re below the neck (coughing, vomiting, etc) stay home if you can—dancing will only delay your recovery. Just be sure to listen to what your body needs, and take it one sniff at a time.
