Wheeldon Talks Broadway and Ballet On "60 Minutes"
The dance world is well aware of Christopher Wheeldon’s prolific choreographic portfolio. But the regular world is just starting to catch up. On Sunday, “60 Minutes” profiled the An American in Paris director and choreographer. During the segment, he mostly talks about directing his first musical, what inspires his movement and how he juggles all of his new choreographic projects and the re-stagings of his existing ballets. Wheeldon even mentions a particularly overwhelming point in his choreographic career, when he closed his short-lived company Morphoses. Check out the segment below, and don’t miss the bonus footage of A Winter’s Tale, which many balletomanes have declared one of the finest story ballets of the 21st century.
