Need an energy boost but don’t want to turn to standby caffeines and sugars? The market is starting to discover some alternatives which I like to call “berries you haven’t heard of and probably can’t pronounce.” Noni, goji, and acai (ah-sigh-ee) berries are exotic energizers that are antioxidant-rich, immunity-building, and anti-inflammatory. They’re also said to control weight gain by balancing your omega intake. Watch out, though: Some beverages boast these berries on their labels, like Noni- and Goji-flavored Snapples, but only contain 5 to 10% berry juice.
