21 Ballerinas, 2 Designers, 1 Parisian Catwalk
It’s hard to imagine anything more glamorous than Paris Fashion Week. Until you add Dutch National Ballet to the haute couture mix.
Dutch designers Viktor & Rolf hired 21 dancers from DNB to bourrée down the catwalk last week in choreography by director Ted Brandsen. The fashion elite in attendance agreed it was an exceptionally elegant way to present their spring/summer 2014 collection, which consists entirely of flesh-colored latex—clothing that wouldn’t necessarily look out of place on an opera house stage. (The little pink bows they put on the dancers’ pointe shoe ribbons, however, are a different story.) Luckily, Elle caught the show on camera. Take a look:
