The Latest Airbnb Dance Experience Lets You Party with Alan Cumming and See a Paul Taylor Show

March 12, 2018

Willkommen to the night of your dreams: First you’re transfixed by a performance at Lincoln Center’s opulent Koch Theater. Then you’re sipping wine with the ridiculously famous Alan Cumming. Later, he whisks you away to his exclusive East Village club, where you party late into the night.

While these scenarios sound like the makings of a wild dream, they’re very real. This Thursday, March 15, you and up to 19 others could join Cumming for the ultimate night out, framed around Paul Taylor American Modern Dance’s spring season. (Yes, your host is actually the Tony, Olivier and Emmy award-winning performer, Alan Cumming, who starred in a little show called Cabaret. Perhaps you’ve heard of it?)

This week’s event, currently for purchase as an Airbnb experience, marks an uptick in the trend of professional dance companies crafting one-of-a-kind happenings hosted on the popular lodging website. (New York City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet and Alonzo King LINES Ballet have offered past events.)

Interested? Here’s what the evening includes:

– Meet up with Cumming pre-show at New York City’s famed Lincoln Center.

– Enjoy a night of modern dance at the David H. Koch Theater, where Paul Taylor Dance Company is currently performing. (We hear Cumming is a huge fan.) You’ll see Taylor’s 60’s-themed Changes and his humorous Cloven Kingdom, along with Lila York’s Continuum.

During intermission, you’ll have access to the patron lounge and complimentary wine.

– After the show, head downtown to your host’s own Club Cumming, but the dancing won’t be over quite yet: Taylor member Michael Apuzzo will perform a solo from Taylor’s Runes at the club.

– Come 1 am, you’ll be ready to call it a night (for the history books?).

The price tag? $350 per person. The experience? If you ask us, it sounds priceless.
