Ballet Stars on a Screen Near You

While Ballet in Cinema has brought us some spectacular performances from Moscow, Paris, London, and Holland, the distributor has partnered with Youth America Grand Prix for an evening of ballet that’s a bit closer to home. On Sunday, March 31 (with an encore on Tuesday, April 2), “Ballet’s Greatest Hits: YAGP Gala” is coming to a movie theater near you. We’re especially looking forward to the White Swan pas de deux from Marcelo Gomes and Veronika Part, a brilliant onstage partnership that isn’t cast nearly nearly enough; Don Quixote from fireball Maria Kochetkova and the elegant Alejandro Virelles of Boston Ballet by way of Corella Ballet; and what is sure to be a rip-roaring Flames of Paris from the unstoppable pair of Ashley Bouder and Daniel Ulbricht. The performances are rounded out by exclusive interviews with the performers and dance luminaries like Alexei Ratmansky, Alessandra Ferri, Edward Villella—and our own Wendy Perron.
