This Black Friday, Keep Giving Thanks—Especially for Your Dance Teachers

It’s the day after Thanksgiving, which means food comas and Black Friday shopping. But why should the spirit of thankfulness end? Tuesday, November 29 is the official Thank a Dance Teacher Day, so you’ll have a chance to show your appreciation for some of the most important people in your life.

The National Dance Education Organization created Thank a Dance Teacher Day to honor the educators at the heart of the dance world, and to raise money for their Professional Development Scholarship Fund, which allows teachers to enrich their studios with new skills and experiences.

To participate, just share a story of a teacher who has had an impact on your life using the hashtag #NDEOThankADanceTeacherDay, and donate $10 to the Thank a Dance Teacher Fund in honor of them. Be sure to link to this page, too.

Or, go above and beyond—your dance teachers deserve it. A “thank you” in person is always nice, and throwing in a card and a gift will show how much their dedication and passion mean to you.
