Malcolm Grant danced with The Washington Ballet in the early 1980’s, under the direction of Mary Day. He was in the original cast of several works by The Washington Ballet’s then assistant artistic director, Choo San Goh, including Goh’s
In the Glow of the Night
.  Previously, Grant danced with John Clifford’s Los Angeles Ballet.  Upon retiring from dance, Grant settled in New York City. He was well known for his generosity, which took many forms, including helping younger dancers get established in NYC. Several of these dancers went on to major careers at New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.
