ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF DANCE, TAP/JAZZ: Dean College’s Joan Phelps Palladino School of Dance invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Dance, Tap/Jazz. This is a 10 month, full-time position. The ideal candidate will teach 2-3 levels of tap technique per semester, and 2-3 levels of Broadway jazz per semester. Additional skills such as teaching hip hop as well as jazz and tap history are preferred. An earned MFA in Dance and/or equivalent professional experience is required. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (213UC6145): The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) seeks an outstanding candidate for a full-time, tenure-track Modern and Contemporary Dance beginning in the fall semester, 2014. CCM Dance is a program with a ballet and contemporary dance emphasis for the dancer seeking top-level training and rigorous artistic, academic and studio curriculum. Duties: Will include teaching contemporary and modern dance and choreography/composition to motivated dance majors in a professionally oriented BFA program, choreographing or restaging works for two main stage productions per year, mentoring and advising students, serving on dance and academic committees, and assisting in recruiting, auditioning, and retention of students. Based on this individual’s skills, this faculty member may also teach somatic, character dance, or other aspects of their specialties. Required: Terminal degree or commensurate professional experience; prior teaching experience in higher education, conservatory or professional company. Preferred: The ability to teach a recognized modern technique and/ or contemporary ballet. Additional expertise and teaching experience in related fields such as dance media/technology, kinesiology/somatic/Laban, dance history, pedagogy, choreography/composition and specialized dance idioms.
