Ovation's Battle of the Nutcrackers

It’s time for Ovation’s Battle of the Nutcrackers, one of our favorite holiday traditions of late.

This past Sunday the television channel Ovation kicked off their 6th annual Nutcracker competition. Audiences are treated to Nutcracker productions from around the world each Sunday night until Christmas. The audience then picks the winner of the battle by voting online. When you vote you’re also entered for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree. (See https://www.facebook.com/OvationTV/app_111195249044631 for clips of each production and to vote).

This Sunday (Dec. 3) Ovation will air Matthew Bourne’s version. Other versions you’ll be treated to are San Francisco Ballet, the Royal Ballet, The Bolshoi, and the Mariinsky. The winner will be announced Christmas Eve. And, just for fun, the station will replay all of the productions on Christmas day.
