Spelling Out What This Election Means

October 30, 2012

Election Day is less than a week away and Pilobolus—in their signature way of using the body, often literally, to send a message—has launched a great, nonpartisan photography campaign to get out the vote. Check out the Pilobolus Vote Project on Facebook for super creative images both from the Pils and the public, and send in your own photos using #pilobolusvoteproject on Instagram or by emailing [email protected]. (The New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment was so impressed by the company’s work that it asked the Pils to be part of a media campaign for www.whosontheballot.org.)

“The Pilobolus Vote Project is our way to create something together that doesn’t just say, “Vote,’ but also encourages people to join physically to express themselves as a group, as a community,” said Pilobolus’ executive director Itamar Kubovy in a statement. “Our hope is that the Pilobolus Vote Project will empower people to have a voice, regardless of political leanings, and to share that voice with their peers.”
