Stephen “tWitch” Boss Has Died

December 14, 2022

Stephen “tWitch” Boss, a commercial dance powerhouse and beloved “So You Think You Can Dance” competitor, “All Star” and judge, has died at age 40.

His wife, fellow dancer Allison Holker Boss, with whom he shared three children, confirmed the news in a statement to People this morning. “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into,” Holker Boss said. “He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans. To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt.”

A contestant on “The Wade Robson Project” prior to competing on “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 4, tWitch had a prolific career in the commercial dance industry and in film and television. He rose from guest DJ to co-executive producer on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” served as a permanent judge on Season 17 of “SYTYCD” last summer and, most recently, appeared in the Disney+ film iteration of The Hip Hop Nutcracker, among many other credits. Alongside Holker Boss and other commercial stars, he co-founded online class platform CLI Studios.
