Summer in the Windy City
Still deciding what to do this summer? The audition tour for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago’s summer intensive is now underway, with five more stops in San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Iowa City, and Austin. Whether Hubbard Street is the company you dream to dance for someday (in delectable repertory by artists like Ohad Naharin, Twyla Tharp, Azure Barton, and many more), or you just want to push your technique and artistic range to the next level, the HSDC summer program has a lot to offer. Students take daily classes in ballet, modern, and company repertory, all with HSDC’s artistic staff and dancers. There are two four-week programs: one for ages 14–17 at the University of Iowa (June 17–July 12) and one for ages 18–24 at Hubbard Street’s Lou Conte Dance Studio in Chicago (July 8–Aug. 2).
