"SYTYCD" Wins Two Emmys

August 25, 2014

Every year since 2007, “So You Think You Can Dance” has taken home at least one Emmy Award—that is until 2013. Last year was the first season that the show didn’t win for choreography, costuming or lighting design. As of last night though, “SYTYCD” is back on the Emmy train. Not only did it win for Outstanding Costumes for a Variety Program or Special, but it also took back the Outstanding Choreography award, thanks to Tabitha and Napoleon D’umo’s clever hip-hop routines in Season 10. This makes a total of 13 Emmys for the show.

It’s fair to mention that with shows like “Bunheads” and “Breaking Pointe” long gone, TV wasn’t very dance heavy this year. The only other show nominated for Outstanding Choreography was “Dancing With the Stars.” Most of “SYTYCD’s” competition in the category was itself—its other choreographers and routines.

Check out the three routines that won Tabitha and Napoleon D’umo the award, below.
