The Latest: In the Works

The creators of Memphis are sticking to their Tony Award–winning formula: stories about making music. The team’s current project, Chasing the Song, follows a young woman songwriter who hopes to break into rock ’n’ roll in 1960s America—a male-dominated industry threatened by British talent. (Will we get to see a Rolling Stones or Beatles track come to life?) The musical is scheduled for a Page to Stage workshop May 13–June 15 at the La Jolla Playhouse in Southern California.
