Stuttgart Ballet’s Evan McKie will join The National Ballet of Canada as a principal. â–  Paris Opéra Ballet’s Nicolas Le Riche retires this month. â–  Three American Ballet Theatre soloists give farewells in July: Yuriko Kajiya and Jared Matthews (who join Houston Ballet as first soloists) and Sascha Radetsky. â–  Aspen Institute Arts Program has named Charles “Lil Buck” Riley a Harman-Eisner artist in residence. â–  James Jordan, ballet master at Kansas City Ballet, will become ballet master at Sarasota Ballet this fall. â–  William Forsythe will join University of Southern California’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance.

Pippin director Diane Paulus has been chosen for Time magazine’s Time 100, a list of the “most influential people in the world.” â–  Dance honors from London’s Olivier Awards have been given to Casey Nicholaw (Best Theatre Choreographer, The Book of Mormon) and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Sadler’s Wells (Best New Dance Production, Puz/zle). â–  Angelin Preljocaj receives the Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival Award in July. â–  Tere O’Connor has been inducted into the 2014 class of American Academy of Arts and Sciences. â–  The 2014 Guggenheim Fellows for choreography are Ivy Baldwin, Andrea Miller, Rashaun Mitchell, Dean Moss and Kate Weare. â–  The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation has announced its Artist Awards, worth $275,000: Joanna Haigood, John Jasperse, Emily Johnson, Bill T. Jones, Annie-B Parson and Ranee Ramaswamy. Impact Awards of $80,000: Anna Halprin, Trajal Harrell, Jennifer Lacey, Jodi Melnick, Jennifer Monson and Adrienne Truscott.
