Vintage Valentina

Today’s archive photo is of a young Valentina Kozlova and Igor Terentiev at a 1973 performance in NYC while she was a student at the Bolshoi school. Kozlova was a principal at the Bolshoi when she defected in 1979 and joined the NYCB. She is the founder of the Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition (formerly the Boston International Ballet Competition). Registration is open until April first.
