Before Desmond Richardson, Matthew Rushing or Linda Celeste Sims ever danced for Ailey, they all had one thing in common: Each was a National YoungArts Foundation alumni.

Every year since 1981, YoungArts has provided emerging artists ages 15 to 18 access to significant college scholarships, support from renowned mentors, national recognition and cash prizes of up to $10,000. Through this nonprofit, several of today’s top dancers have landed significant career opportunities, and enjoyed master classes with the likes of Mikhail Baryshnikov, Jacques d’Amboise and Bill T. Jones.
