When Ballet Dancers Go Flying—with a Little Fairy Dust

March 7, 2017

What does it take for dancers to fly? The members of Nashville Ballet are currently finding out. Artistic director Paul Vasterling has built a whole new production of Peter Pan from scratch, and brought in performance flight experts ZFX to install a system in the company’s warehouse that lets him choreograph movement in the air. From this behind the scenes video of the dancers learning the, well, ropes, it looks like a total blast! Check it out:

The dancers will bring Neverland to life with their new mid-air tricks this weekend, Oct. 18–20, at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.
