Live Stream Forsythe at PNB Tonight

March 10, 2015

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to work in the studio with contemporary ballet mastermind William Forsythe, tonight is your chance to find out.
(Or try to get a spot in the new
University of Southern California’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance,
where he’ll be a professor
 starting this fall.)

Today, Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30 pm PT (that’s 9:30 pm ET), tune in here for a live stream of Forsythe at Pacific Northwest Ballet. The lecture-demonstration is in celebration of the company’s all-Forsythe program, which runs March 13–22 and includes New Suite, The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude and In the middle, somewhat elevated. This evening’s stream will include a conversation between Forsythe and PNB artistic director Peter Boal, as well as questions from the audience in Seattle’s McCaw Hall.

While the lecture portion is sure to be stimulating, I’m most excited about the demonstration part. The live broadcast promises to give viewers a taste of how Forsythe runs rehearsals, as PNB’s dancers will be on hand to work through some of his exhilarating, but oh-so-difficult, choreography.
