Taylor Swift Makes Bad Dancing Cool

Taylor Swift is a terrible dancer—and she wants the world to know it. The wonderfully kooky music video for her new single “Shake It Off,” from her upcoming album 1989, has her clumsily dancing with a corps de ballet of swans, awkwardly twerking with hip hoppers and over-emoting her way through contemporary dance. There’s break dancing, cheerleading, the robot and this grand jeté that elicited an audible chuckle from me:
The peak of her jump. Good form, Taylor. Good form.
The only thing that’s missing Taylor, are your country music roots. Where’s the line dancing?
