Tombé, pas de bourrée, clang-clang-clang

December 19, 2012

The worlds of Wall Street and ballet (especially ballet performed in drag) don’t often intersect. But at 9:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve, tutus and pointe shoes will make a fleeting appearance amid briefcases and suits, when the men of Les Ballets Trockadero Monte Carlo ring the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange. How will “the Trocks” work their trademark cheekiness and humor into the daily bell-sounding tradition? You’ll have to be there to find out, or watch the live stream here. You can also catch the company in their more natural habitat, onstage at the Joyce, through January 6.
